I first saw Amanda, Tyler and Steve, aka the Wilkinson’s, live 23 years ago this summer at the North Bay Heritage Festival. We were all kids back then, especially so for Amanda and Tyler. The trio has gone through a number of iterations over the years including a run as duo, Small Town Pistols featuring just Amanda and Tyler, as well as a solo run for Amanda but they always seem to find their way back to the stage as a family and when they do it’s nothing short of magic and last night was no exception.

The Canadian country music community is embracing their “like family” reputation as they come together to support one of their own in Toronto on March 3. An Opry-style benefit concert for Runaway Angel singer Cadence Grace, Country Kicks Cancer’s Ass will take place at the Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon with a handful of country music’s best taking the stage in support of this talented artist. Featuring performances by Jessica Mitchell, Eric Ethridge, Leah Daniels, Genevieve Fisher, Kris Barclay and many more, tickets are available now.

It’s CMAO Monday so I thought it would be fun to dedicate this week’s edition of Monday Musings to discuss my picks for the third annual event. I should mention that I personally am not a member of the Country Music Association of Ontario, yet, so my picks have not influenced the outcome of tonight’s awards. 

Lets keep this one simple.  I love Country Music!  I really do.  And this morning waking up to the CMAO 2016 Award Nominations was kind of like a kid at Christmas.  As my eyes read through and processed this years nominations I couldn’t help but wonder.  Who will be the BIG Winners next month at the Awards Ceremonies in Markham? Here is the list of Nominations.

At the end of last year I looked ahead to 2015 and made a bold prediction that it would be bigger with more interviews with bigger artists, more festivals, more events and more contests. I could never have predicted exactly how much bigger the year would actually be.

Just last week we posted the exclusive acoustic version of the Small Town Pistols‘ latest single off of their album Pistology, Jester In A Crown, and today we’re excited to post the official music video starring our friends Chad Brownlee and Aaron Pritchett and directed by the very talented Stephano Barberis. We have partnered with the Small Town Pistols to bring you this exclusive acoustic video of the soon to be released Jester In A Crown.  The full video will air soon on CMT in the very near future and was shot by the VERY talented Stephano Barberis.  The video will also feature another Canadian Country Star but we won’t spill the beans on that one.   Amanda & Tyler shared this awesome acoustic performance with us and we couldn’t wait for you to see it.  We would love to hear what you think…   We love the acoustic stuff.

Oh and watch we will have these guys in for a Mason Jar Session soon we promise.

There’s no denying that the summer of 2015 was an incredible one for live entertainment with stellar line-ups at veteran festivals and even the addition of a few new ones including Way Home, Bestival, Capital Country Fest @ Spencerville Stampede to name just a few. Well hold onto your hats because fall 2015 is going to be even hotter and it all kicks off later this week, here’s our look ahead to some of the hottest events and tours still to come before we say farewell to 2015.

Ok… With only days to go.  Literally 3 sleeps to be exact. I thought I would just give you my first two days and what I believe are the top NOT TO MISS artists.   As mentioned in my Kick Off Party post a couple of days back I am really looking forward to seeing Old Dominion for the first time.
