USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) came through Edmonton on June 3rd, 2022, and played their last show at Midway in part of their “Final FINAL Freakquency Tour”. I was lucky enough to shoot them when they played Together Again in the summer of 2021; I was not going to miss a chance to photograph them a second time.
What I love about USS is their music (of course!) but their stage presence as well. Jason “Human Kebab” Parsons and Ashley (Ash) Buchholz bring a caliber of energy that is unmatched. The crowd interacted with them in a way I have only seen at their concerts. Everyone knew all the songs and was singing back at Human Kebab and Ashley.
Known for their songs “Hollowpoint Sniper Hyperbole” and “This is the Best”, USS opened their set with “Who’s with Me?” from their “New World Alphabet” album released in 2017. USS is touring in support of their latest and final album, “Einsteins of Consciousness”, released on January 8th, 2021, “Happy” and “Big Life (26 Letters)” are the two major singles from this release.
Opening for USS was a local Edmonton band called Seriously Fun. They are a duo sporting guitar and drums like The Blue Stones. They warmed up the crowd for USS in spectacular fashion.
