Frontman for Hey Rosetta! Tim Baker made a tour stop at Bronson Centre in support of his Solo LP, Forever Overhead delivering a remarkable performance.

The assignment of warming up the ivories and getting the crowd ready for Baker was handed over to the graceful Charlotte Cornfield.

Delighting the audience with her honest open and expressive sounding vocals she delighted the crowd with her unique melodies. As if that wasn’t enough, we were treated with her showcasing her piano and guitar abilities.  Her songwriting is matchless. and she takes you on a delightful journey that you just have to see through to the end. Definitely someone you will hear more from in the future as she sets her path forward sharing with us her creations.

Articles I’d read talked about Baker stepping outside his comfort zone but after this show I’d have to disagree and say he’s dead center of his comfort zone.

Opening with two beautiful songs on piano set the standard for the night.  He had an immediate connection with his audience and if there was any change of me getting to center stage for a picture well that just wasn’t happening. The crowd were glued to the stage, looking up at Baker as he crossed the stage from beginning to end hanging onto every note that came across his lips.

The performance was so much more than I had anticipated.  He vocals were clear and accomplished and his presence on stage was that of sheer confidence and content.  The crowd certainly sensed that emotion and fed on it creating that intimate moment but only tonight the moment lasted for the entire night.

A perfect pairing of artists on stage tonight.  Both delivering their finest moments but Tim Baker….what else do I need to say. A perfect evening.
