Iron Kingdom Keep It Steel at Vancouver album release show
Canadian Heavy Metallers, Iron Kingdom, celebrated the release of their latest full-length record with a night of riffs at Vancouver’s Wise Hall earlier this month.
Known for their ability to echo the sounds of the metal forefathers (Iron Maiden, Judas Preist), Iron Kingdom put on a show to remember for battle vest adorning metal heads across the Lower Mainland.
From thundering drum solos and insatiable shredding, to choreographed stage moves and fantasy-laden lyrics, the band’s performance was tighter than the leather pants they wore.
Feeding off the energy of the fans that packed the venue, the band ripped through their set with precision, playing highlights from the new record ‘The Blood Of Creation’ and their entire discography.
The new album is now available to purchase on the band’s website.
Set List:
Tides Of Desolation
Sheathe The Sword
Queen Of The Crystal Throne
Hunter And Prey
Witching Hour
In The Grip Of Nightmares
Primordial
The Blood Of Creation
White Wolf
Voodoo Queen
Encore:
Road Warriors
Flight Of The Warrior
PHOTOS: Animals As Leaders, Car Bomb and Alluvial conquer Vancouver
Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom hosted a night of immense musical prowess on Wednesday, October 26th, welcoming American acts; Animals As Leaders, Car Bomb and Alluvial.
While these acts may sound like an odd pairing to some, they could not be better suited to share the stage together, as they all share one important ingredient – incredible instrumentation.
From the intricate terrain of Animals As Leaders’ progressive and stunning landscapes to the mind-boggling heaviness of Car Bomb’s musical mathematics, all supported by the cavernous complexities of Alluvial – this bill was one for fans of metal mastery.
Old Dominion announce No Bad Vibes tour with Frank Ray, Steven Lee Olsen and Shawn Austin
Current CMA Award Vocal Group of the Year and Album of the Year nominees Old Dominion announced their upcoming No Bad Vibes Tour set to kick off in spring 2023. The surprise announcement was made to a capacity crowd at Loser’s Bar and Grill in Nashville during Monday night’s Whiskey Jam performance. Old Dominion, who got their start as regulars on the Whiskey Jam stage, was joined by rising country stars and Whiskey Jam favourites Shawn Austin, Greylan James, Kassi Ashton and Frank Ray. All these acts will be joining Old Dominion in a first of its kind opportunity with Whiskey Jam to be the opening act support partner. Fans will get to see Ray, Ashton & James on all U.S. dates, and Ray, Austin along with Steven Lee Olson on all Canadian dates.
PHOTOS: Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage, Spiritbox and Fit For An Autopsy Conquer Vancouver
Vancouver’s UBC Thunderbird Arena was shaken to life this long weekend, thanks to a stacked lineup of some of metal’s heaviest hitters of the modern millennia.
As if a night headlined by the southern brutes in Lamb of God, backed by the iconic Killswitch Engage wasn’t enough to get Vancouverites headbanging to the point of whiplash — up-and-coming deathcore act Fit For An Autopsy and the return BC’s own, Spiritbox, left us all sore and smiling for Thanksgiving Monday.
From breakdowns and blast beats to gutturals and near operatics, Lamb Of God’s ‘Omens’ tour kick-off, had everything a metalhead of any age could wish for. The pyrotechnics, strobes, stage banter, and hit-spattered setlists, were the cherries on top of a perfectly hellish evening.
