The Rock and Roll Society of Edmonton is very excited to welcome back Edmonton Rock Fest on Saturday, August 14th, celebrating its milestone 10th Anniversary. The one-day festival will take place at the historic Racetrack Infield on the Edmonton Exhibition Lands, which is being transformed into a socially distanced outdoor concert venue this summer by producers Trixstar.
Grey Cup Outdoor Concerts heat up a cold night
Only die hard Canadians would have what equivocates to an outdoor music festival in below freezing weather, With temperatures hovering around -10 with the windchill and dropping with the sun, it made for a pretty bundled up crowd … but they did still come!
Friday marked day 3 of the music and the second full day. The crowds in attendance were treated to some rock, hip hop, and pop before getting a full day of country Saturday.
All Toque’d Up for Edmonton’s Grey Cup Festival
What do you get when a bunch of boys from the Canadian prairies that have made it big and tour the world with the likes of Shania Twain, Slash, Gene Simmons, and Kelly Clarkson decide they wanna form a band to perform nothing but covers of their favorite Canadian classic rock music?! Toque had two shows plus a meet & greet spread out over three days of the 106th Grey Cup festivities in Edmonton we were on hand for it all.

All Toque ‘d up to start off Surrey Canada Day Concerts
Brent Fitz, Todd Kerns, Cory Churko formed the band Toque in 2012, initially as a one-off for a charity event in Winnipeg … but when these home grown Canadian guys loved the experience – and Canadian music – so much, they formed their own all-star cover band … but they cover all of their Canadian favorites, not just one artist. Probably the biggest names in music ever to start a cover band and record an album … and the crowd at the Bill Reid Amphitheatre in Surrey BC will be forever grateful.
