Anyone else find it was just yesterday that we were talking about the end of Ottawa Bluesfest 2023? Where did the year go? It’s also been 10 years now since I’ve been covering this event so huge kudos to Joe, AJ, Mark and the entire team behind the scenes for inviting us out every year and giving us the opportunity to showcase this world class event.
Thirty years and counting . . . Ottawa Bluesfest announces star-studded lineup for 2024
Ottawa Bluesfest organizers are happy to be celebrating their 30th anniversary this summer, and today announced a star-studded lineup worthy of the occasion.
Headliners on the RBC Stage include (July 4) – Mother Mother; (July 5) – Nickelback; (July 6) – 50 Cent; (July 7) – Maroon 5; (July 10) – Zac Brown Band; (July 11) – Neil Young Crazy Horse; (July 12) – Tyler Childers; (July 13) – Mötley Crüe; and (July 14) – Nas.

Bluesfest Day 1: Wild, Rainy and Impressive
This must be what Woodstock felt like.
Bluesfest returned to Ottawa after a one-year hiatus under stormy, muddy conditions, as the weather fluctuated from nearly disastrous to merely glum. Two acoustic openers, Lauryn Macfarlane and Aysanabee, got things started under more mild weather. Then the show went electric with Tokyo Police Club and especially Half Moon Run, as the weather turned.

The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, today unveiled the programming lineup for Canada Day in Canada’s Capital Region. The celebrations, which will highlight multiculturalism, diversity and inclusivity in Canadian society, will be held June 30 and July 1 in Ottawa and Gatineau. It promises to be the big party of the summer that you won’t want to miss!
Tokyo Police Club rock Ottawa’s Bronson Centre
On the heels of announcing an exciting partnership with Toronto’s Phoenix Concert Theatre that would see it become a larger player in Ottawa’s music scene, Bronson Centre hosted two Ontario bands notorious for memorable live performances. The vibe inside the venue was upbeat and excited as fresh dream-pop group Dizzy and veteran indie rockers Tokyo Police Club were about to hit the stage.
Canadian Music Week announces full lineup!
Canadian Music Week (CMW), presented by Amsterdam Brewery, now in its 37thyear, is Canada’s longest running, largest showcase and conference festival. Taking place May 6-12 across downtown Toronto, the venue centric festival will host both local and international acts over the week kicking off with 70’s rock band Television at The Phoenix. In addition festival event favourites return with the iHeartRadio Fan Fest featuring Marshmello and Neon Dreams (May 8), and The Indies presented by Indie 88 and Jim Beam featuring the Born Ruffians, LA FORCE and The Elwins (May 11). Previously announced acts include The Dandy Warhols, Tokyo Police Club, Azealia Banks, Black Mountain, The King Khan and BBQ Show, The Dirty Nil, Sunflower Bean and more.
