Chase Rice’s JD & Jesus Tour rolled into the always amazing Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on Saturday night and lets just say, the South was rockin’ the Great White North. If you have been reading the site the last couple month’s you may have noticed that the Cadillac Three have caught my eye as of late. So to have the boys playing the direct support spot on the tour was a win for me.

Two major tours announced with eastern Ontario stops in 2016
It was a big day for country music concert announcements especially if you live in eastern Ontario. Reigning three-time ACM Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year nominee Jason Aldean announced his “We Were Here Tour” and 22-time CCMA Award winner Gord Bamford along with 4-time Grammy nominee Joe Nichols announced today their co-headline “Certified Country Tour”.

Boots & Hearts Day 4 Recap
Well, It was the last day of the bid weekend. Most say they save the best for last. It’s pretty tough to top Eric Church and Dallas Smith as headliners. But when you get Thomas Rhett & Florida Georgia Line ya at least have a shot. And lets just say these guys came to party. I am a HUGE Thomas Rhett fan and have been for years (5 or 6 now at least) I can still remember seeing him take the stage in Chicago at Joe’s on Weed St. Performing after Brad Paisley’s big Wrigley Field gig as the after party to maybe 300 people and then witnessing the show yesterday.
Getting to know Leanne Pearson
As I write this day 2 of Boots and Hearts is well underway and 8 tensions are likely starting to grow between 8 emerging artists set to take to the Front Porch Stage Saturday afternoon all vying to be chosen for the coveted opening spot for Thomas Rhett on Sunday afternoon. One of the top 8 is Winnipeg Manitoba’s Leanne Pearson. In less then two years, Leanne has had one single hit Top 50, “Get Outta My Heart”, and one single hit Top 90, “The Only Thing”. Leanne shows that there are no limits to an Independent Canadian Country Girl. We had the chance to chat with her a few months back about her career to date and what it meant to be chosen for the top 8 at Boots and Hearts.

With Boots and Hearts just around the corner there was a couple artists I was eager to talk with BEFORE they hit the stage. I was in London, Ontario earlier this month to take in one heck of a performance from one Thomas Rhett at the 2nd Annual Gone Country Festival. With the loss of Little Big Town to their line up it seems that Brad Jones and the crew at Jones Entertainment Group were going to have to go back to the well and figure out what they could get in place of such a high-profile band for the 2nd Annual Gone Country Music Festival being held in London, Ontario July 16 & 17th.
