Burton Cummings plays to over capacity crowd at Vacouver PNE
Burton Cummings essentially sold out his show three times over at Vancouver’s PNE Fair. The Amphitheatre was at capacity; the beer garden held a giant screen to air the show was at capacity; the Tim Horton’s stage with seating in the food area was, you guessed it, at capacity … and people were standing around along the outside of it all, without a view, but hoping to hear some of the music.

Grease: LIVE, almost, better than the original!
When I first heard that they were planning to remake Grease for a live television event I admit I kinda cringed. Firstly Grease is one of my all time favourite movies and secondly Hollywood hasn’t had much success, in my opinion, when it comes to live TV remakes of classic musicals. First came Carrie Underwood’s train wreck of a remake of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Sound of Music and second came the equally bad rendition of Peter Pan, I didn’t even bother with The Wiz. I simply couldn’t bear the thought of watching Hollywood destroy Grease (like the sequels weren’t bad enough).
