It always amazes me how fast time flies from opening night of RBC Bluesfest to the long walk home after the last show on the last night. What a year, the 25^th for RBC Bluesfest and the 7^th for Sound Check Entertainment. Sure, they were met with some weather challenges and some unforeseeable artist cancellations but for the most part RBC Bluesfest 2019 was one of the smoothest runnings of the festival I have ever attended. Mother Nature tried, and failed, on more than one occasion to disrupt the festivities but each time the sun managed to push through and clear things up with enough time to get most of the acts in.

Summer is here and that means it’s almost time for another edition of the Ottawa Bluesfest! While all the hype typically surrounds the headliners, there is loads of local talent performing as well. So if you’re going, head out early and discover some of the great local music that our city has to offer. Once again this year, there are many great up and coming local bands for you to discover and enjoy!

It’s that time of year again, first everyone is excited about the forthcoming announcement of the Ottawa Bluesfest lineup and then for the next 5 months won’t stop complaining about the lack of “blues” in the lineup.

So let’s start off with the fact that I LOVE LIVE MUSIC.  I love it so much that I, a full grown man, feel completely justified in using shouty capitals when I write about how much I LOVE it. Just ask my wife (who will inevitably be asking me why I didn’t put her name in caps) – I would be at a concert every night if I could (with her by my side of course). I have been contemplating writing this post for a couple weeks now and thought after hearing about another big US Country Music Festival closing up shop this summer it was time to post this one.
