Friday night was more than alright at Lansdowne for the second evening of CityFolk Festival. The late summer, yes mid-September is technically still not fall, concert series has been steadily growing since its move to the Glebe’s Great Lawn and this edition seemed extraordinarily well attended.

Budweiser Gardens was the seventh stop on this all Canadian joint tour with Matthew Good and Our Lady Peace with support from Ascot Royals on Saturday night, and while it was a more intimate setting being a half arena show it couldn’t have been any better.

I walked into the TD Place with hesitation.
The weather was peculiar and I wondered if this trip to Ottawa would be worth my time and attention. I’ve seen both main acts on this bill multiple times and neither act was screaming at me as tremendously relevant right now.

Mother Nature saved her August rain for Tuesday and spared a massive crowd at Ottawa’s TD Place stadium on Monday night from her wrath. Massive crowds arrived early and showed a lot of Patience and didn’t cry over long merch and beer lineups because it was all better by 7:30 when Axl Rose, Slash, Duff and the rest of Guns N’ Roses exploded onto the stage.
