Sunshine and hot temperatures welcomed fans to LeBreton Flatts in Ottawa as RBC Bluesfest kicked off it’s 2023 edition with large crowds for an opening night of country featuring Lindsay Ell and Shania Twain and a night of pure rock and roll featuring Billy Talent and Weezer.
Canadian punk rockers PUP packed the Newport Music Hall full of rowdy fans ready to mosh and crowd surf last night in Columbus, Ohio.

Saturday, Day 3 at the Ottawa Bluesfest. The humidity had finally broke but the heat was still intense and not just from the sun. The Bluesville stage continued to be host to some outstanding artists. The Texas Horns who have been perennial guest stars of the festival for close to 20 years, were joined by The Split for a set of their own. If you love blues which is heavily driven by a horn section, The Texas Horns are a band you don’t want to miss. Kaz Kazanoff, John Mills and Al Gomez had the room full of excitement and energy that was thoroughly enjoyed by a packed house.

Alright Ottawa, time to let out a unified breathe of relief. After a few extra weeks, a couple of false leads and a whole lot of speculation, your RBC Bluesfest line-up has finally dropped.

Montreal’s 7th annual city punk festival Pouzza Fest took place last weekend in downtown Montreal including five indoor venues and an outdoor stage at the Beer Garden. The festival attendees were spoiled with an amazing weather most of the weekend, and only got wet at the last outdoor show of the weekend on Sunday when California’s Lagwagon closed Pouzza’s main stage.
Festivals are not always all about camping in sweaty tents and getting soaked and muddy or sunburnt at outdoor festivals, and Montreal’s Pouzza Fest is a perfect example of a successful city festival.
