POUZZA FEST 2018: Welcoming Spring with Montreal’s Punk Festival
Ah May in Montreal.. the sun is out, the birds are singing, and the sounds of punk music fill the streets downtown. Pouzza Fest in Montreal marks the unofficial start to festival season with over 175 bands performing different venues all weekend long. Kick off each day started early with punk yoga and meditation, and went until the other early, with secret shows starting as late/early as 2am.

I always love an excuse to go to the city, and rock shows are my favourite kind of excuse. The venue, Marquee Beer Market & Stage, is top notch. I mean, the place has four bars, serves food, has a fantastic stage and lighting set-up, and huge dance floor. Oh, and I can’t not mention the giant disco ball and microphones hanging from the ceiling. This place is a good times factory.

So I was sitting in the media lounge at Montebello’s Rockfest. The chalet was beautiful, the staff was welcoming, and the iced coffee had the perfect amount of pep and kick. I was charging my phone battery and preparing for a second day of incredible live music, when who should walk in to charge their phones but punk rock icons Good Riddance.

The Wild! heading out on North American tour.
Kelowna rockers The Wild! have just released their second album Wild At Heart in February, and are heading out on a two month long tour this summer. The tour consist of ten Canadian dates with Pennsylvania band CKY as well as 27 shows across the U.S. with the heavy metal super group Adrenaline Mob.
Pouzza Fest 7 brings punk rockers together in Montreal
Montreal’s 7th annual city punk festival Pouzza Fest took place last weekend in downtown Montreal including five indoor venues and an outdoor stage at the Beer Garden. The festival attendees were spoiled with an amazing weather most of the weekend, and only got wet at the last outdoor show of the weekend on Sunday when California’s Lagwagon closed Pouzza’s main stage.
