Ottawa’s annual Folk Festival returned to Lansdowne Park for a second consecutive year on Thursday, and is continuing strong as we plow through the weekend events, with more to follow starting Sunday afternoon. The festival, now widely known as CityFolk has continued to grow in new and inventive ways, included an expanded lineup of incredible performers throughout Ottawa’s local bar and restaurant scene….Marvest.

Well after spending 3 days hunkered down in what might be the best city in Canada for Country Music we have a little something to share.   We have the 2nd of our CCMA posts with some great shots of the John Deere Green Carpet.  This was our first year having a presence on the carpet with Corey getting a chance to chat with the artists as they walked in.  Be sure to check our video of Corey chatting with everyone HERE.     However, Bill and James were also able to grab some amazing images of the artists making there way into Bud Gardens in London, Ontario.

Tim Hicks will be returning to eastern Ontario for a special performance at CFB Kingston as part of the annual Garrison Family Fun Fest next Saturday September 10!

OTTAWA, ON – Multi-Platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench have announced their second headlining tour in Canada this year, “Marianas Trench and the Last Crusade,”which kicks off on November 1st in Prince George, BC at CN Centre. VIP tickets will be available on Wednesday, September 7th at 10am local time. General admission tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, September 9th at 10am local time. That’s a wrap.  WOW, not really sure if there is a better way to say goodbye to the summer of 2016.  With over 8 high profile country music festivals in Ontario this summer I can honestly say that Lucknow Music In The Fields wins top spot in my books.  Before I dealve into the music side of things lets just touch on the people behind the festival that make such an incredible event happen.  

Although we’ve known about the Kip Moore dates in Ontario for a while now it was announced this morning that Meghan Patrick would be joining Kip and Jon Pardi for these dates.

Eric Church announced the dates on his 2017 tour this morning! His North American 60+ city run, the aptly titled Holdin’ My Own Tour, will officially launch on Jan. 13, 2017 at Lincoln, Nebraska’s Pinnacle Bank Arena and will conclude with two nights at Nashville, Tennessee’s Bridgestone Arena in May. For the first time ever, there will be no support act on this tour. Eric and the ECB will play two full sets of music with an intermission in between.

So it has been a red hot summer thus far in terms of Festivals we have covered since June 1st.  Not just hot shows but the weather has been smokin’ for most of them.   I though I might take a shot at a mid summer festival recap and just do a quick review on where we have been so far in this jam filled summer of 2016.

Last Wednesday & Thursday London became the Country Music Mecha for 2 days.  #RTP2016 – Gone Country brought some of Country musics biggest names such at Brad Paisley, Jake Owen, Dallas Smith & Tim Hicks to Harris Park in downtown London, Ontario.

So we had a chance to catch up with the boys in Old Dominion this past week at Rock The Park  / Gone Country in London. It’s been awhile since we last chatted and  we would normally have video on this but unfortunately we seemed to have a few technical issues and got the audio only.
