Canadian punk rockers PUP packed the Newport Music Hall full of rowdy fans ready to mosh and crowd surf last night in Columbus, Ohio.
Grandson Thrills Crowd At The Newport Music Hall
Canadian-American Jordan Edward Benjamin is the singer, songwriter and musician known as grandson, currently on the road for his “Death Of A Tour 2022”.
A little background info – grandson released his major label debut EP, A Modern Tragedy Vol. 1, in 2018 with Fueled By Ramen, and released the follow-up A Modern Tragedy Vol. 2 in 2019. In December of 2020, he released his debut studio album Death Of An Optimist.
The stop in Columbus, Ohio at The Newport Music Hall was nearly sold out, with the line to enter the venue at least a block and a half long. One of the opening acts bowed out due to illness so Royal & the Serpent went on early and really ramped up the energy in the venue. The crowd totally enjoyed her set! Royal & The Serpent at Newport Music Hall
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Ryan Santiago is Royal & The Serpent and her career has been one continuous viral rise since her start in 2017 with the independent release of “Temperance” followed by “Together” in 2018. She signed with Atlantic Records at the end of 2019, releasing “Overwhelmed” as her first single for the label in June 2020. The single spent 22 weeks on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart and is now RIAA- certified gold.
Her most recent EP IF I DIED WOULD ANYONE CARE, released in January of this year, features the singles “PHUCKBOI REJECTS” and “I’M NOT SORRY” as well as four brand new tracks.
The Ufgoods LP Release Show at Rumba Cafe
The UFGOODS played their “second first show” to showcase their debut full length LP Taking The Blame For Everything to a decent crowd for a Thursday night at the Rumba Cafe in Columbus, Ohio.
The crowd consisted of family and friends sporting UFGOODS merch, a good mix of local musicians, and a half a dozen local music photographers. It’s no secret here that this is a band to watch and even more so after the release of this LP which you can listen to HERE and HERE

Caroline Rose entertained a full house at Skully’s Music Diner on Sunday night. in Columbus, Ohio. While the band dealt with a few technical difficulties, the crowd took it all in stride and enjoyed the show, pushing close to the stage and responding loudly. Caroline Rose’s voice is magical and hypnotic and her guitar solos are intense as she thrashes around as if in a trance. It was quite a show!

Zoo Trippin’, who describe their sound as “Apocalyptic Party Rock,” held a banger of an album release show at Summit Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio Saturday night. The band’s dedicated hometown fan-base packed the venue for a sold out concert event featuring the album Who Are We Now which they played in its entirety.

Everclear brought their iconic alt-rock and 90’s vibes to The King of Clubs in Columbus, Ohio February 18th. Playing favorites such as “Father of Mine”, “Wonderful”, “Buy You a New Life”, and “Santa Monica, they thrilled those in attendance. Catching Up With The Villaintinos At The Stoop
The Villaintinos are a powerful punk rock outfit out of Columbus, Ohio founded by guitarist Todd Novak in late 2018. He brought in drummer Matt Grover and bassist Jay Donovan and then the search was on for a vocalist who Todd knew “could only be fronted by a female with a massive amount of attitude and a voice that would feel like a shot through the heart and a kick to the balls.” They filled that tall order by enlisting Leah Pugh as their vocalist. Onstage, she can channel the power of a Joan Jett or Courtney Love in badass attitude and delivery!

Atreyu is at the midpoint of The Baptize Tour on which they headline with support from Crown The Empire, Tetrarch, Saul and Defying Decay. The show Saturday night at The Newport Music Hall had plenty to offer the large crowd of metalheads in attendance, including a woman in a wheelchair who was crowd surfed not once but twice to the front during the show!
