Thrash Metal Giants Testament killed it at The Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday Night with plenty of help from Exodus and Death Angel!
The venue was packed all the way up into the balcony with plenty of moshing on the floor. Exodus even invited a young girl from the front row to come on stage and play for a bit on one of their guitars. The crowd, as anticipated, went wild!
All in all it was quite the shred fest with an all-ages crowd enjoying the concert by three great metal heavyweights.
The HU Sold Out Show At The Newport Music Hall
The Hu is a Mongolian folk rock/metal band formed in 2016 who call their style of music “hunnu rock” which features throat singing and traditional Mongolian instrumentation. They are currently on their Black Thunder Tour in the US and tickets are selling fast.
The show in Columbus, Ohio at The Newport Music Hall last night was sold out and probably could have been upgraded to Kemba Live! if it wasn’t for another rock show scheduled there.
Fontaines D.C. Fires Up Crowd in Columbus, Ohio
Irish alt/indie band Fontaines D.C. hit Columbus, Ohio Friday night on their USA Tour 2022. The band has continued its steady rise in popularity since signing with Partisan Records in 2018. The band’s debut album, Doggrel, was released in 2019 and A Hero’s Death in 2021- both garnered worldwide praise and racked up awards. Their third album Skinty Fia, released last month, became the band’s first to reach number one on the UK Albums and Irish Albums Charts.
The members of the band are Grian Chatten (vocals, tamborine), Carlos O’Connell (guitar, backing vocals), Conor Curley (guitar, piano, backing vocals), Conor Deegan III (bass guitar, guitar, backing vocals), and Tom Coll (drums).

Hard rock band The Lonely Ones (formerly Bobaflex) made a hometown stop in Columbus, Ohio on their recent tour. The Lonely Ones line-up consists of Marty McCoy (lead vocals, guitar), Jymmy Tolland (now lead guitar, vocals), Tommy Johnson (drums) and the newest member Tru Payne Roberts (bass, vocals), who came onboard after Jake Early departed the band earlier this year.

Grandson Thrills Crowd At The Newport Music Hall
Canadian-American Jordan Edward Benjamin is the singer, songwriter and musician known as grandson, currently on the road for his “Death Of A Tour 2022”.
A little background info – grandson released his major label debut EP, A Modern Tragedy Vol. 1, in 2018 with Fueled By Ramen, and released the follow-up A Modern Tragedy Vol. 2 in 2019. In December of 2020, he released his debut studio album Death Of An Optimist.
The stop in Columbus, Ohio at The Newport Music Hall was nearly sold out, with the line to enter the venue at least a block and a half long. One of the opening acts bowed out due to illness so Royal & the Serpent went on early and really ramped up the energy in the venue. The crowd totally enjoyed her set!
