Rain was in the forecast, once again, for night 3 of Ottawa Bluesfest as hip hop took over the RBC Stage while Mt. Joy drew a solid crowd on the River Stage.
Thirty years and counting . . . Ottawa Bluesfest announces star-studded lineup for 2024
Ottawa Bluesfest organizers are happy to be celebrating their 30th anniversary this summer, and today announced a star-studded lineup worthy of the occasion.
Headliners on the RBC Stage include (July 4) – Mother Mother; (July 5) – Nickelback; (July 6) – 50 Cent; (July 7) – Maroon 5; (July 10) – Zac Brown Band; (July 11) – Neil Young Crazy Horse; (July 12) – Tyler Childers; (July 13) – Mötley Crüe; and (July 14) – Nas.
Mt. Joy Brings Mellow Vibes to Toronto
On October 8th, quickly rising folk band Mt.Joy brought their smooth message-driven songs to a sold-out crowd at the Danforth Theatre in Toronto.
Mt. Joy a now successful genre-bending five-piece band started with two guys who disliked their day jobs in LA. Matt Quinn (vocals) and Sam Cooper (guitar) grew up together outside of Philadelphia and by coincidence found each other in later life. Both wanted an escape from their day to day so they started playing music together. Now the band consists of three more: Michael Byrnes on bass, drummer Sotiris Eliopoulos and keyboardist Jackie Miclau. Mt. Joy has gone on to mainstream success with millions of streams on Spotify and performance features on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Conan O’Brien Show.
THE LUMINEERS ANNOUNCE III – THE WORLD TOUR
The Lumineers announced today a 2020 headlining North American tour of arenas and amphitheatres. The tour dates are in support of their upcoming album III out Sept. 13 on Dualtone. Mt. Joy, who recently emerged as “a fast and furious 21st century success story” (Magnet), has been added as support for multiple dates.
The Decemberists Bring Their Somber Sounds to Ottawa to close out CityFolk
This year’s CityFolk Festival wrapped up on a high note, with a well attended evening of agreeable weather and positive mellow vibes. Internationally respected and appreciated marquee talent The Decemberists were the main stage headliners, supported by a plethora of talents that notably included Terra Lightfoot and Whitehorse among others.
CityFolk announces 25th Anniversary Lineup
With September comes cooler temperatures, the leaves start to change colour and fall from the trees, back to school sales are the big thing at pretty much every retailer and most people are looking back on the summer festival season that was…but in Ottawa there’s always one more big party before we put away our festival shoes and that party, CityFolk Festival, unveiled its 25th Anniversary lineup earlier this morning.
