It was a perfect night for a helping of some soul filling music at Cityfolk in Ottawa with headliner Matt Andersen, friends Matt Mays, and The Record Company.

November 4, OTTAWA — Ontario Festival of Small Halls organizers today announced that they will be welcoming music fans back to beloved rural venues across Eastern Ontario this holiday season to share the joy of big music in little, festive places.
An intimate evening with Matt Mays
The evening’s opening act, Skye Wallace, brought dynamic high energy music intertwined with serious messages. Her sound is unique and has been described as dark folk with influences from punk rock and 90’s grunge. A charged opening show that is not to be missed.
Everything Is Alright for Glorious Sons
Kingston’s music scene is alive and well and The Glorious Sons made that clear Saturday night as thousands packed into Richardson Stadium to see the band once again play their hometown.
After The Storm: Ottawa comes together for September’s Tornado victims
On September 21 around 4:00 in the afternoon. I was headed home from work, travelling along the Queensway in Ottawa on what seemed like a normal Friday, except for the fact that cooler morning temperatures had given way to sweltering hot humid temperatures and a threat of severe thunderstorms came along with the temperature change. My gut told me that something wasn’t right about this weather combination…

Arkells Dominate K-Rock Centre Like Modern Day Pop Icons
Now I have to admit, while I like the Arkells, I never jumped on the buzz-worthy bandwagon that a lot of my peers seem to have. Arkells are solid. They bring energy to every show. They even get political sometimes, and their “Ode to the Whistleblower” is a pretty powerful tune. And much like Glorious Sons (who are coming to the K-Rock Centre in February 2018), the commercial radio/university campus buzz/Canadian indie support for them is not only noticeable but frankly hard to miss.
Saturday Night’s Alright at CityFolk
The weekend edition of CityFolk got underway on the great lawn at Lansdowne on an unseasonably balmy Saturday afternoon. First to hit the stages were locals and kind of locals Danielle Allard, Common Deer, Miss Emily, Twain, and Fred Penner’s G-rated show for the little ones.
