Lynyrd Skynyrd brought their show to Toronto’s Budweiser Stage Saturday night and it was a huge hit! They have been on the road in one form or another for over five decades, playing under various names and settling on Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1969. At the height of their career, in 1977 there was a tragic plane crash and the band was instantly over when Ronnie Van Zant, Cassie Gaines and Steve Gaines perished. The remaining members reformed in 1987 with Johnny Van Zant, Ronnie’s younger brother singing lead and they have continued, since then, to tour and record. 2018 will mark the end of their long and storied career with this Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour, presented by SiriusXM.
The Piano Guys in Ottawa: this is why they have 1 billion YouTube views
The Piano Guys are four fathers from Utah who make beautiful music together using several different musical instruments, only one of which is actually a piano. Last week they did just that in front of a packed house at TD Place in Ottawa.
Revolution 3 Tour, feat Stone Temple Pilots, Bush and The Cult at Budweiser Stage in Toronto
Live Nation hosted The Revolution 3 Tour at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto. This show is an amalgamation of Stone Temple Pilots, Bush and The Cult. When the tour was announced I was excited to be able to see Stone Temple Pilots and the Cult for the first time. This concert isn’t your typical headliner with supporting acts, they all shared equal stage time.

Avenged Sevenfold bring the Stage World Tour to Ottawa
There was no shortage of a crowd at the Canadian Tire Centre for Sunday night’s Avenged Sevenfold show. Unsure of what to expect in terms of crowd size for a Sunday night, I was pleasantly surprised by a decent crowd for the first set. Bullet For My Valentine was first up on the bill and went on just after six, which is quite early, but the crowd was excited and ready for the night to begin. Groups of those on the floor were eagerly awaiting the headliners, while many were clearly fans of all three bands. The Welsh heavy metal band got the crowd going, encouraging those on the floor to start moshing they traced back through their bands history for songs. Tornado pits quickly grew in the crowd and bodies began surfing around those with tickets on the floor.
Live Nation’s Great Canadian Hometown Tours, a great way to save on concerts!
Everyone knows we love live music, we have the luxury of getting into many of our favourite shows as media but we know that for most of you that’s not the case and sometimes it’s tough to pick and choose which shows you’re going to take in. While Live Nation hopes to make that choice a little easier with their Great Canadian Hometown Tours promotion!
