Last Friday night I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff Martin for the second time in as many years doing a solo gig at The John Street Pub in Arnprior, Ontario. Jeff’s performance was fantastic and with the intimate venue and great opening acts the entire night was perfect.
The Tea Party Announce The Black River Tour
Jeff Martin rocks the John St Pub with incredible solo performance
It’s always been a pleasure enjoying a show at The John St. Pub in Arnprior, I have seen several great shows there and played there myself as well. An upstairs bar setting with framed albums on the walls, a good size dance floor open area for the crowd, totally an 1980’s throwback feel, kudos to them, but tonight July Twenty First was special, it was the reappearance of Jeff Martin of Tea Party and Solo Fame. I unfortunately missed his first show here, but I was assured of an awesome show by friends. The show had several support acts, all unique, which added to the great flow of the evening, Crossing Jane, Vicki Brittle, Etoile Noire, Robb Kerr. I knew we were in for a treat of an evening of Local Artists.

Celebrating 20 years of Transmission with The Tea Party
20 years ago I was a student at Canadore College in North Bay. We had this bar, called The Wall. It was a small venue but in its 20 year existence hosted some of the finest musicians Canada has ever produced. It was also where I was first introduced to Jeff Martin and The Tea Party as they rolled across the country promoting their new album Transmission.
