It was a sweltering weekend in Oro-Medonte and the weather wasn’t the only thing that was hot. With an attendance upwards of 40,000 people (a 5,000 person increase from last years inaugural event) WayHome was the place to be.

Next up in our series featuring the 2016 Top 7 Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase finalists are Toronto area duo Jess and Tay. Made up of 18-year-old Jessie Bower of Hamilton and Taylor Adams, 19, of Pickering Jess and Tay met while both were roommates and classmates at Humber College. Jess and Tay are pretty much as fresh as you get when it comes to Emerging Artists considering they almost didn’t enter the contest because they felt they didn’t have enough material ready. But they did enter and are currently sitting at the top of the vote count just ahead of Vanessa Marie Carter at the time of writing this.
Something amazing set up shop at London’s Budweiser Gardens on Monday night. Spanning the entire 200 feet of the arena floor, the stage was set, for what I would personally say, was the show of the year thus far in London.

I had a chance to chat with Honeymoon Suites Derry Grehan a week or so before they hit the stage in Hamilton & Mississauga this week.
The Lad Classic are an energetic rock foursome out of the Toronto area and I was able to catch them in Hamilton at This Ain’t Hollywood.
The Spice Factory in Hamilton was host to the album release of The Redhill Valleys on Tuesday, and it was completely sold out. There was a buzz of excitement among everyone in attendance, merch and cd’s were flying off of the table before any music even began. The trio of Danielle Beaudin, Chelsea McWilliams and Tim Allard have been polishing their sound for a little while now in the Hamilton/Toronto area and have gathered a lot of interest and anticipation towards their first album release. Well, the wait is over.
It’s finally time for the long awaited Garth Brooks weekend in Ottawa. Seeing as they had so much fun in Hamilton last weekend we figured we’d start things off with a little poll.
So this past weekend Garth Brooks rolled into Hamilton, Ontario, Canada after 19 loooong years. Last time Garth was in town the venue, now FirstOntario Centre, was called Copps Coliseum and I was in my early 20’s. Garth returned not for one sold out show, but FIVE. I don’t think there is another artist alive that could sell out five shows in four nights in this market.
