I’ve never purchased membership in a fan club in my life but when it was announced that Eric Church was coming back to Ottawa and the best way to guarantee great seats was to become a member of his Church Choir fan club, that’s exactly what I did. On Friday night, the show we had been anticipating since that day in September, finally arrived and we would not be let down.

Eric Church announced the dates on his 2017 tour this morning! His North American 60+ city run, the aptly titled Holdin’ My Own Tour, will officially launch on Jan. 13, 2017 at Lincoln, Nebraska’s Pinnacle Bank Arena and will conclude with two nights at Nashville, Tennessee’s Bridgestone Arena in May. For the first time ever, there will be no support act on this tour. Eric and the ECB will play two full sets of music with an intermission in between.

We caught up with CMT Music Fest artist Andrew Hyatt and wanted to know a few things before he hit the stage on July 8th when he opens for Eric Church and Kip Moore in Kitchener, Ontario for CMT Music Fest’s inaugural party.

Last night the Academy of Country Music handed out their yearly hardware along with some pretty unique performances by some of Country’s biggest names.

So let’s start off with the fact that I LOVE LIVE MUSIC.  I love it so much that I, a full grown man, feel completely justified in using shouty capitals when I write about how much I LOVE it. Just ask my wife (who will inevitably be asking me why I didn’t put her name in caps) – I would be at a concert every night if I could (with her by my side of course). I have been contemplating writing this post for a couple weeks now and thought after hearing about another big US Country Music Festival closing up shop this summer it was time to post this one.
