Before this show, I only knew Cage the Elephant for their song “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked”. However, when I had to sign a waiver and attend a safety meeting with their Head of Security, I knew the show was going to be extraordinary. Cage the Elephant brought their electrifying energy to the stage on June 28th, and fans at Rogers Place were treated to a spectacular performance. Known for their raw and unfiltered sound, the band delivered a set with the entire crowd on their feet from start to finish. I was completely blown away and left that show being a huge fan of their music, stage presence, and true craftsmanship.
Old Dominion – No Bad Vibes
American country/country pop band Old Dominion made a stop at Rogers Place on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, in support of their “No Bad Vibes” tour. Well, they were correct. I could not see any bad vibes inside the venue. (This was my first arena shoot since moving to Edmonton, and I was very excited!) As I walked onto the floor/photographers’ pit, I noticed the sea of denim, cowboy boots, and hats. Edmonton came prepared for what was about to occur!
Exclusive: Stapleton is the real deal
What do you get when you combine the finest song writing today, phenomenal guitar licks and the best real country voice of our time? Chris Stapleton is the complete package. I’m glad he gave up his job as a song writer to pursue his own musical path. More on his show later in the review.
