So Dierks Bentley is set to release his new album BLACK in the very near future.   His first single is called Somewhere On A Beach, and it is a beauty.  Have a look and judge for yourself.   Dierks is totally the coolest guy in country and this video is a great follow up to the Drunk On A Plane style video.   You stay classy Dierks and we will see ya in August at Boots & Hearts!

Ok so I think we can officially say that Ontario has quickly become a HOT BED for Country Music Festivals for 2016 in Canada.   Seriously its unreal… With nearly 13.8 Million people in Ontario and lets say you take 3% of that population that are ticket buying country music fans.  You are looking at just over 380,000 people are looking to buy tickets into an event this summer.   The big question is, which one or two are they going to be spending their hard earned cash on?

Three’s A Party Tour Poster

Four of the biggest names in country music will headline the 2016 Big Valley Jamboree which will be held on July 28 – 31 in Camrose, Alberta. The headliner’s were announced yesterday in a private email to BVJ Bandits (aka newsletter subscribers) and the official announcement was made this morning. Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and Sam Hunt will headline the 24rd Annual event.

So,  one of our biggest supporters (Tim Hicks) has a “Newish” album at the record stores and any where you can download good music.  5:01+ has 4 new songs including his current single Young Alive and in Love.   We had a chance to sit down and talk with Tim to discuss the new album and the tour that kicks off this fall.

Friday August 14th started a two day road trip for me. My first stop was to Stirling Ontario to see Deric Ruttan at the 157th Stirling Fair.

After an incredible start to this year’s Ottawa Bluesfest the second week was the week that had more of the music I was interested loaded so it was no doubt one I would be looking forward to covering.  Initial plans were that I would be finished my shifts with the Green Team by this point as well but health issues in the first week forced me to pick up some shifts in the second week.
