Mt. Joy Brings Mellow Vibes to Toronto
On October 8th, quickly rising folk band Mt.Joy brought their smooth message-driven songs to a sold-out crowd at the Danforth Theatre in Toronto.
Mt. Joy a now successful genre-bending five-piece band started with two guys who disliked their day jobs in LA. Matt Quinn (vocals) and Sam Cooper (guitar) grew up together outside of Philadelphia and by coincidence found each other in later life. Both wanted an escape from their day to day so they started playing music together. Now the band consists of three more: Michael Byrnes on bass, drummer Sotiris Eliopoulos and keyboardist Jackie Miclau. Mt. Joy has gone on to mainstream success with millions of streams on Spotify and performance features on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Conan O’Brien Show.
