The Spice Factory in Hamilton was host to the album release of The Redhill Valleys on Tuesday, and it was completely sold out. There was a buzz of excitement among everyone in attendance, merch and cd’s were flying off of the table before any music even began. The trio of Danielle Beaudin, Chelsea McWilliams and Tim Allard have been polishing their sound for a little while now in the Hamilton/Toronto area and have gathered a lot of interest and anticipation towards their first album release. Well, the wait is over.

This weeks Barn Burners wasn’t easy.   With so much new music hitting the shelves and your favourite online music store it was tough to pick my favourites that I have been listening to this week.  This one might have a bit of a theme with the titles 2 out of 3 have Kiss in them.   Let me know what you think and be sure to follow me over on Instagram. 

A little bit of Texas came to Canada! The Eli Young Band took a right turn into southern Ontario for a couple of shows this week. So glad they did.

I recall a time, not so long ago, when women dominated the country music scene. Fast forward to the second decade of the 21st century and it’s almost the exact opposite…to the point where one radio consultant, Keith Hill, actually went on the record and said “If you want to make ratings in country radio, take females out.”

Boots and Hearts is set to embark on another adventure.   Tickets for 2016’s party go on sale to the general public this THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th a@ NOON!  Here is all the info you need to get your hands on what is sure to be the hottest ticket of the summer!  Could Garth be coming to party for 2 or 3 nights this summer?  Guess we will have to wait to find out!  But being the 5 year anniversary we know it’s going to be good!

Canada’s Largest Camping and Country Music Festival Returns for Fifth Year

Oro-Medonte, Ontario – Republic Live, organizers of the Boots and Hearts Music Festival ,announced last week  that tickets for the 2016 festival will go on sale Thursday, September 24^th at 12 pm EST exclusively at www.bootsandhearts.com  Ticket prices for full event general admission will start at $229.99 and organizers are encouraging fans to act quickly as they expect Tier 1 GA to sell out prior to the first artist announcement.  The festival will take place August 4^th – 7^th, 2016 at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds and all tent and RV camping options, parking and premium tickets offerings will also go on sale at that time and information is currently available at www.bootsandhearts.com

“We’re pretty fired up for what the fifth year anniversary of Boots and Hearts has in store,” said Shannon McNevan, Executive Director, Republic Live.  “We had great feedback from fans on what they’d like to see available at our new home at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds and have made a few changes based on their requests.  We’ve replaced our premium camping area with tent camping PLUS, as we had many requests for larger and closer spaces but without the need to be a premium ticket holder.  We’re also going to be expanding our allotment of premium tickets, which will allow access to the barn, viewing decks, front of stage access and more as we had many fans wishing to upgrade their tickets on-site this year.  We’re encouraging fans to act quickly if they are looking to purchase at the $229.99 price as we fully expect the Tier 1 GA tickets to sell out prior to our first artist announcement.”

One of my favourite perks of writing for a music blog is the opportunity to attend shows like this one. The Rock’n’ Horse Saloon is a small, up close and intimate environment nestled in Toronto’s entertainment district. It was the perfect spot for Wes Mack‘s Edge of the Storm CD Release Party.

Well, as we all know the summer is coming to a close and there aren’t many festivals left on the calendar.  However one of my favourite events of the year is a mere 3 days away.  Lucknow MITF kicks off its 7th year on Friday night with another fantastic weekend of country music lined up.

So, Last night I had the chance to witness what I was hoping to be an epic performance from one of country music’s elite.  From the thousands that have flocked to his shows in the US with sold out dates in stadiums holding 70,000+.  

Well for those of you that have been reading the site for the last year or so, you all know that I am a HUGE Eric Church fan.   To celebrate Eric playin’ north of the border for the largest country music festival in Canada Boots & Hearts I thought I would put a few of my favourite tracks from the artists hitting the stage today!
