Mattawa Voyageur Days celebrates 20 years with “Classic Rewind” for 2017 Festival
In 1998 a new festival made it’s debut at Explorer’s Point in Mattawa where the three rivers meet. The inaugural Mattawa Voyageur Days Festival featured a lineup made up of Wild Ones (Youth), Headpins, Toronto, Trooper and Barney (Children’s). This summer fans can relive the summer of 1998 as organizers roll back the clock 20 years and present a “Classic Rewind”.
River Town Saints bring the Valley downtown
Doc Marten’s and mohawks were replaced by cowboy boots and plaid as the River Town Saints rolled into Mavericks on Friday night. Ottawa’s favourite metal venue was officially taken over by the boys from the Valley.
Brad Paisley descends on Kingston and delivers a night to remember!
In a city that’s known as the home to some of Canada’s greatest entertainers, namely Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip, you have to put on a special show to impress the fans that fill the walls at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. It was a brisk evening last night on the shores of Lake Ontario and it was Brad Paisley who would take to the stage along with, Calgary native, Lindsay Ell and Chase Bryant.
Four Chords And The Truth – 6th Confessions
Thursday night at The Dakota Tavern was by far the most diverse instalment of the Four Chords And The Truth series. Really getting to the “kernels of the popcorn”. The songwriters featured at each confession have the opportunity to get back to the roots of each of their songs and give us (the audience) some vulnerable insight into the origin of their art.

Killer Send Off to Summer @ Lucknow MITF
That’s a wrap. WOW, not really sure if there is a better way to say goodbye to the summer of 2016. With over 8 high profile country music festivals in Ontario this summer I can honestly say that Lucknow Music In The Fields wins top spot in my books. Before I dealve into the music side of things lets just touch on the people behind the festival that make such an incredible event happen.
Steel Panther Slip into London Music Hall
When California glam rockers, “Steel Panther”, announced their latest tour with a stop in London Ontario, I knew this was a show we could not miss to review. This venue is one of our favorite venues to catch shows at, here in London, ON. The London Music Hall was set to play host to the throwback, 80’s glam rock days. While parking the car nearby, I couldn’t help but notice that there was a lot more neon spandex-wearing men in downtown London than on a normal Monday night.
The night kicked off with a few local acts tearing up the stage and getting the spandex clad fans riled up for the show to start. Toronto rockers, “Diemondz”, got the crowd firing on all cylinders with their metal sound and great stage show. If you can catch them, you should, the put on one heck of a show.
Then it was time! The hair, the make-up, the spandex, and the profanity were about to begin. “Steel Panther”, graced the stage and the place went into overdrive! By far, one of the loudest and craziest fan bases I have ever seen at a show in the London Music Hall.
If you don’t know who Steel Panther is, they are well known in the rock circle for their exaggerated stage show, profane lyrics and the humorous tones to their show. It’s more than just a rock show, it’s a comedy act all wrapped up into one. With audience participation, in the form of screaming, yelling, and throwing of undergarments, it was clear I wasn’t in my normal element of country music in London, ON. With that being said, it’s a show everyone, (well maybe not everyone), should take in once in their life. If you’re looking to catch them, they are going to be at the Sound Academy in Toronto on November, 29th, 2016. Tickets are on sale for that show but get them quick! It’s almost guaranteed to sell out.
