The last night of Cityfolk in Ottawa was a boot stompin’ good time!

Friday night in the capital and everyone was ready to let loose and make some noise!

I couldn’t think of a better way to get back into the post-pandemic live music swing of things that a sunny late summer day at Lansdowne Park.

Organizers of Ottawa’s CityFolk music festival today announced the lineup for a virtual festival they are staging in lieu of their annual outdoor event, due to the ongoing pandemic.

A week ago legendary rock and roller Robert Plant and his Sensational Space Shifters closed out 2019’s Ottawa City Folk Festival.

Saturday night, the third night of Lansdowne’s CityFolk Festival, brought a wide variety of acts sure to please lovers of all variations of folk music. Musicians and concert-goers young and old showed up to the festival, sharing an experience clearly capable of transcending generations.

This past Thursday, Orville Peck, The Once, Lucinda Williams, Larkin Poe and The Strumbellas fired up day one of Ottawa’s 25th City Folk Festival.

CityFolk festival organizers today announced the initial line-up for their 2019 program.

This year’s CityFolk Festival wrapped up on a high note, with a well attended evening of agreeable weather and positive mellow vibes. Internationally respected and appreciated marquee talent The Decemberists were the main stage headliners, supported by a plethora of talents that notably included Terra Lightfoot and Whitehorse among others.

Before we get too deep into this review, I have a personal bias I feel might be worth admitting. I’ve been eager to see Hozier perform live for a number of years and personally believe that his debut album was one of the best mainstream commercial releases of the last five years.
