The Tragically Hip are Canada’s musical equivalent to maple syrup and only 8 days remain until the boys from Kingston rock out potentially one final time (if you’re an eternal optimist). You can consider yourself practically a lottery winner if you have seen or are going to see one of the four final shows. I haven’t won the “lottery” for this final tour, but I am a Hip fan to the core.
Life Is Good at Newmarket Jazz+ Fest
This past holiday weekend, Newmarket hosted the annual Newmarket Jazz+ Festival. And what a treat for this town!
Home Sweet WayHome!
It was a sweltering weekend in Oro-Medonte and the weather wasn’t the only thing that was hot. With an attendance upwards of 40,000 people (a 5,000 person increase from last years inaugural event) WayHome was the place to be.
Rockin’ in Hagersville
What do you do in the middle of rural Norfolk County on a summer night? You throw a party in a park that was once a gravel pit and you call it, “Hagersville Rocks”, and rock it did.
Rock the Park, The Rest of the Story…
After two epic nights of country, Rock the Park shifted gears in Downtown London’s Harris Park. New for 2016 was Virgin Fest 2016, sponsored by 97.5 Virgin Radio, in London. Now, I need to be honest here and say this night’s line up was not one I was really keen on. The line up included local performer, Ria Mae, Canadian rapper Classified, Nelly, and Flo Rida. As a guy who listens to mainly country music and some rock thrown in there, this was bound to be an interesting night.
WTFest rocks Brantford
I am sure there are still a lot of people scratching their heads saying, “What The F*#% happened on Saturday night in Brantford”. Well, I will tell you; one heck of a rock show happened. WTfest was back for its second year. This year, Jamie and his gang were presented with picture perfect weather for what was to become a legendary show in the home city of the, “Great One”, Brantford ON.

George Thorogood is ” Badder than Ever ” in London ON
Our friends, over at Jones Entertainment Group, know how to throw a party as they have shown us year after year with Rock the Park Music Festival in London, Ontario. However, they just proved it doesn’t have to be the middle of summer to throw a party.
Boots and Hearts Pre-Game Party – Toronto
KX Country and Boots & Hearts teamed up to bring the biggest Country Show to CMW. With the likes of red hot Meghan Patrick and a band that had by far one of the best performances of last years Boots and Hearts Festival with Blackjack Billy taking the headlining honours. For those of you that were part of that 30,000+ Kick off party you will know that the boys in BJB tore the roof off the Front Porch stage on that beautiful Thursday night.
Falling For The Redhill Valleys
The Spice Factory in Hamilton was host to the album release of The Redhill Valleys on Tuesday, and it was completely sold out. There was a buzz of excitement among everyone in attendance, merch and cd’s were flying off of the table before any music even began. The trio of Danielle Beaudin, Chelsea McWilliams and Tim Allard have been polishing their sound for a little while now in the Hamilton/Toronto area and have gathered a lot of interest and anticipation towards their first album release. Well, the wait is over.
