After an amazing first day in St. Agapit, Quebec, which matched attendance from last year’s record-breaking show with Tim Hicks and James Barker Band, you’d think it would be hard to top on Saturday. But then again a lineup of heavy hitters starting with Ottawa’s own Rainwater Whiskey and perfect weather matched with a province of hungry country music fans anything was possible.

The school yard at Holy Name school in Pembroke is in desperate need of new playground equipment. They could’ve held a bake sale, a car wash or even sold nevada tickets but instead they decided to invite Brett Kissel to make Pembroke’s Festival Hall a stop on his We Were That Song tour…last night we had the pleasure of being part of an incredible night that will take be remembered, for many years, as one of the most amazing nights of live entertainment ever to rock the Ottawa Valley.

2017 Country Music Year in Review
It seems like just yesterday we were counting down from 2016 to 2017, it’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun. 2017 also known as Canada 150 came with its share of highlights from the JUNOs to the Grey Cup and plenty of amazing milestones in between. Track X Track with Brett Kissel’s We Were That Song
It’s been a few years in the making but the long anticipated third album that Brett Kissel and I talked about last February has finally arrived. The debut single, and title track, “We Were That Song”, which was released in September, has become Brett’s highest charting single to date.
We Day Ottawa
12000 students from around Ottawa, and as far as St John’s NFLD gathered at the Canadian Tire Centre this past Wednesday for a spectacle of inspiration for change at We Day Ottawa 2017. All ages from elementary school to high school gathered to hear notable speakers like Former Secretary General of the United Nations and the Downie-Wenjack Families. Discussing a variety of issues from indigenous rights in Canada, to Canada’s impact overseas, to the ability for an individual to make a difference through organ donation or volunteering with food banks.
