On Thursday July 12, Blue Rodeo came to Ottawa to perform for the 12th time at RBC Bluesfest. Before the show I had the opportunity to talk to Jim Cuddy about his solo projects, family and how Thursday night’s show almost didn’t happen and the future of Blue Rodeo was in jeopardy due to an illness in the band.
Jim Cuddy Rolls Through Kingston
March 28th, Jim Cuddy brought his band to the Grand Theatre in Kingston on their Constellation Tour. We know Jim as one of the founding members and creative forces behind Blue Rodeo, but he doesn’t sit idle between Blue Rodeo projects. Jim’s style of storytelling in his music makes him one of Canada’s best known songwriters. Constellation is Jim’s fourth solo album and many of the songs were introduced early in the concert. The title track is about a friend of Jim’s who passed away recently. It deals with some of the more sobering aspects of life, such as our own mortality.
Jim Cuddy brings his Constellation Tour to Vancouver
Granville Street, Vancouver is one of the best streets for Live music and the Vogue Theatre is the perfect venue for this intimate Jim Cuddy Constellation Tour concert. This historic building opened in 1941 as a moviehouse and a place for Vancouver’s performing arts. Now one of the greatest places for concerts.

Blue Rodeo @ Bud Gardens…
When given the opportunity to shoot photos and review a Blue Rodeo show recently in London ON, I couldn’t turn down the chance to catch these Canadian music icons in action. I have been a fan of Blue Rodeo since I was a child, growing up with their folk rock sound that so many recognize when heard.
