Seldom in my time as a reviewer have I come into such a diverse room for a concert. Varying ages and cultural demographics, all discovering their inner Latin vibes in one setting is kind of a cool experience.
With a meticulous attention to sound and flow, the Santana band fronted by guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana, brought the vibes to a grateful capacity crowd last week at the incredible Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata.
With classic songs from multiple eras, an impressive drum solo by his “apple pie” Mrs. Santana, a focus on love and positivity, as well as an outstanding instrumental version of a The Beatles’ classic “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” I don’t know what more I can say other than every single person got their money’s worth.
A beautiful arena, a thankful and engaged crowd, and sounds of yesteryear that sound as fresh today as I am sure they will tomorrow.
This show was electric. The Divination tour’s Canadian dates wrap up in Quebec City on March 22 after which it heads to South Africa for a pair of dates next month before returning for an 8 night residence at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
