Prolific singer/songwriter and guitarist Joe Walsh brought his VetsAid 2022 benefit concert to Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio Sunday night.
In it’s 6th year, this annual event featured all Ohio connected acts to raise money for Ohio Veteran’s service organizations.
As a special treat for the audience, members of The Ohio State Marching Band made a surprise visit to play “Hang On Sloopy” and the national anthem at the beginning of the event.
The 6 hour concert included full sets from The Breeders, James Gang, The Black Keys and Nine Inch Nails. Warren, Ohio native Dave Grohl performed on select songs during the night, including The Breeder’s “Gigantic” and The James Gang’s “Funk #49.” During the finale, Dave also joined in on drums for Joe Walsh’s solo hits “Life’s Been Good To Me” and “Rocky Mountain Way.”
It was a night of impassioned speeches on how we all can contribute to the needs of US Veterans – a cause that Joe Walsh has spent many years supporting by gathering together his friends for amazing rock concerts like this. You can purchase VetsAid merch HERE and the concert HERE.
