The start of a new decade and a new session. For the first time in 2020, Ones to Watch was host to the Northside Sessions at the Live Nation Lounge in Toronto. On a much smaller scale and a more intimate setting, Sons Of Daughters and their friends The Reklaws took to the stage for a night of performing some of their hits.
The night started with the Sons Of Daughters taking to the stage and playing to a packed house inside lounge. With people standing wall to wall, the high energy breakout duo performed a 45 min set of the well-known songs. These are the songs that have made them a sought-after group on the country festival circuit. The Northside Sessions allowed them to preform a close personal concert with fans and country music enthusiasts. They put all on the table with their hits and finished off their set with their very own rendition of the Metallica classic “Enter Sandman” which you should probably have a listen to if you haven’t already. Its truly amazing……
After a small intermission, Brother and Sister duo, The Reklaws took to the stage to do some sing along and story telling of their own. The group stepped in for fellow country singer Jade Eagleson who was unable to attend due to some unforeseen circumstances. The Reklaws showed up, and they sure delivered. Dancing, singing and exchanging versus with the audience. The duo had no problems keeping the ball rolling and the energy high in the room. It was amazing to see how much the band and the fans interacted to make the smallest concert seem so big and at the same time it was like a group of friends just having fun singing songs.
These small interactive shows have so much to offer. It leaves you feeing involved in the performance. Part of the show and caught in the moment as it all takes place. Sometimes its easy to lose sight of just how important these small interactive shows are. For a music lover to be in front of the people who make up their playlist. To watch them perform these songs and be able to interact with the people behind the music of their own personal soundtrack. The songs they hear on the radio and the videos they search and watch on the internet performed right before their eyes. These smaller shows hold their weight in gold to any music lover. When you are there, looking your favorite musicians in the face while they are preforming those songs you love, it gives even more appreciation for the bands and the songs themselves. That is simply the magic of music.
Both Sons Of Daughters and The Reklaws will be diving into a busy summer and you have the chance to see them share the stage again at Baconfest in Lucan, Ontario on July 11, 2020.
