Video from Christmas with Music and Beyond gets over 1,000,000 views from around the world
A performance from Music and Beyond’s annual Christmas concert has gone viral, receiving over 1,000,000 views, 21,000 likes and 11,000 shares since it was posted on Britain’s Classic FM web site and on their Facebook page December 29th.
The video features Ottawa mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta, Montreal violist Marina Thibeault, Ottawa pianist Frédéric Lacroix and a surprise visit from Marina’s seven-month-old son Lucien. In the video the three musicians perform the beautiful lullaby “Geistliches Wiegenlied” by Brahms as part of Christmas with Music and Beyond. Wallis holds Lucien for the entire performance.
Lucien had been napping backstage, and when he woke up just before they went on, they decided to bring him out.
“It was such a special part of the concert,” stated Music and Beyond’s director Julian Armour. “Young Lucien was calm and attentive, watching his mother and occasionally looking out at the audience. It’s an absolutely beautiful performance, too!”
By Monday morning it had received over 1,050,000 views from all around the world. All three musicians will be performing at the 2018 Music and Beyond festival, which runs from July 4 to July 18 in Ottawa. For tickets and more information visit www.musicandbeyond.ca.
