The BVJ’s 25th Anniversary is sure to be an event to remember, they have previously announced a star-studded lineup including Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Chris Young and Kacey Musgraves. Today, they are tremendously excited to announce the additions of legendary artist Willie Nelson, Little Big Town, Alberta’s own Gord Bamford, The Washboard Union, and the ever-popular Williams & Ree to our BVJ 2017 line-up of talent. #LongLiveCountry
Willie Nelson
Guess who’s On the Road Again? This living legend will perform at BVJ 25. Willie Nelson brings country tradition at its best. A seven-time Grammy Award winner, Willie Nelson has received countless accolades including American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards and many more..
Willie brought the worlds of pop and country together on the radio in the early 1960s penning evergreen classics including Crazy (Patsy Cline), Hello Walls (Faron Young), Funny How Time Slips Away (Billy Walker), Night Life (Ray Price).
Little Big Town
Hot on the heels of their wildly successful album Tornado, Little Big Town’s prescription for continued success and creative drive is heard in their sixth album, Pain Killer. In the short time since Tornado, Little Big Town earned two #1 radio hits with Tornado and Pontoon, a Grammy, two ACM and three CMA awards along with an Emmy. They also found time to headline a sold-out tour, join Keith Urban across North America and twice host the CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.
Little Big Town recently dropped their new single “Better Man”, co-written with Taylor Swift. They say it has a sentiment that “everybody can identify with.”
Gord Bamford
Australian-born & Alberta-raised, Gord Bamford is one of the most decorated artists in Canadian country music history, having earned an impressive 24 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards and multiple JUNO nominations. Gord is also a two-time winner of Nashville’s Country Music Association (CMA) Global Country Artist award, winning in both 2013 and 2015.
Bamford’s seventh studio album, Tin Roof, winner of the 2016 CCMA Album of The Year, was released in April of 2016 through Sony Music Entertainment Canada. Tin Roof follows the Juno Nominated ‘Country Junkie’ album and features the #1 Billboard hit song ‘When Your Lips are so Close’.
The Washboard Union
The Washboard Union have defied classification and have become one of the most exciting and talked about new bands on the Canadian Country music scene. They are an authentic blend of where country and bluegrass are headed next. Winners of the British Columbia Country Music Association “Roots Artists of the Year” award, The Washboard Union have signed a management contract with country music powerhouse Sakamoto Entertainment and inked a recording deal Warner Music Canada/Slaight Music.
In January 2015, the band returned to Nashville, Tennessee to record their latest EP In My Bones in the legendary RCA Studio A. You just simply have to see them Live!
Williams & Ree
Williams and Ree, aka The Indian and the White Guy, are long-time BVJ favorites and they are back to help celebrate BVJ 25! The music and comedy team out of the Dakotas add a whole lot of fun to a Saturday afternoon.
Bruce Williams and Terry Ree have decades of knock-out live shows under their belts. The message they bring is one of love and harmony, with an underlying note of deceit and debauchery. Their overall theme is ” We Are All The Same”. But in reality, they are totally different entertainers!
Stay tuned for more announcements!
