It got LOUD at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre as they hosted an electrifying performance by beloved Vancouver rockers, Marianas Trench.

Known for their theatrical live shows and a unique blend of pop-punk, alternative rock, and intricate musical arrangements, the band had the Southam Hall audience on their feet. From the moment they hit the stage, the energy was electric. The dynamic Josh Ramsay, with his signature falsetto vocals and passionate guitar playing, captured the crowd’s attention, with his warm, engaging presence. The band’s chemistry was palpable, with each member – including more talented guitar work from Matt Webb, the steady rhythm from bassist Mike Ayley, and the precision drumming from Ian Casselman – adding layers to the already intricate sound.

The setlist was a perfect blend of fan favorites and tracks from their latest albums. Hits like “Haven’t Had Enough,” “Celebrity,” and “Stutter” had the audience singing along, while newer songs from the band’s latest album, Haven, showcased the band’s evolving sound, which continues to impress. It was clear that Marianas Trench has crafted a sound that resonates with a wide range of listeners, keeping their core fans happy while still attracting new ones.

Visually, the show was nothing short of spectacular. The grand setting of the National Arts Centre’s Southam Hall was transformed into a vibrant music hall, on par with any intimate club setting; while the maintaining it’s theatre essence that came with stunning lighting and visuals that perfectly complemented the band’s theatrical style.

All in all, last night’s concert at the National Arts Centre was a testament to Marianas Trench’s musical prowess and showmanship that left fans buzzing with excitement long after the last notes faded. They offered something for everyone, and last night’s performance was a reminder of the band’s consistency in delivering top-tier live performances, proving once again that Marianas Trench is one of Canada’s premier live acts.
