Philidelphia-based rock band Low Cut Connie, featuring wild frontman Adam Weiner entertained a good sized crowd at The A&R Music Bar in Columbus, Ohio Thursday night. You’d have thought the venue was sold out by how loud the crowd showed their appreciation which brought on an encore at the end of the performance.
Adam has an amazing stage presence that is reminiscent of Elton John and the over-the-top antics of Jerry Lee Lewis. He uses his piano and bench as risers to climb on top of to strike a multitude of outlandish poses guaranteed to get the crowd engaged, wondering what he will do next.
Low Cut Connie pulled tunes from their critically acclaimed catalog of rock albums dating back to 2011 with the self-released Get Out The Lotion up to 2020’s Private Lives. Check out a show near you by checking out the tour schedule HERE. Highly recommended!
Opening the show was the New York City rock band SUSU featuring female lead vocalists and songwriters Kia Warren and Liza Colby.
Their intensity onstage commands your attention as they belt out tunes from their 2020 EP Panther City. Speaking of the collaboration that brought the two women together, Kia is quoted on their website as saying, “…We aren’t shy about being black women in Rock and Roll. There is an aliveness, an awareness, and a spirituality to SUSU that are both timely and timeless.” Keep this band on your radar as they continue to rise in the Rock genre.
