Friday night was a very rainy but that didn’t stop the fans from lining up for the SOLD OUT LAUV concert Fortune Sound Club.
This was LAUV’s 1st headlining world tour. Night #2 of the ‘I Met You When I Was 18’ tour. Looking at his tour dates, almost all of the shows are sold out.
Ari Leff uses the stage name LAUV. His mother’s side is Latvian and Ari means lion. He is also a Leo. So the Latvian word for Lion is Lauva but he wanted to drop the ‘a’.
LAUV is a young R&B, Indie-pop singer/songwriter/producer from New York but based in LA,California.
In 2015, Lauv released his EP ‘Lost In The Night’ which featured the hit song ‘The Other’. A song he wrote when he was a student at NYU in 2014.
The floor was packed with a younger crowd from the staged all the way to the back of the room. The fans were getting pumped.
The stage was empty with the backdrop illuminated with LAUV’s logo. The music began and LAUV started singing his newest song ‘I Like Me Better’. The crowd screamed and sang along. Then the music stopped and the stage went black. LAUV walked onto the stage and continued singing the song. An up-tempo song about his new relationship.
Most of his songs are about love and break-ups. His soft, sweet, sultry voice goes well with his lyrics, harmonies and melodies.
LAUV has a huge online following with over 300 million steams in under a year. He has hit Spotify’s Global Top 50 Chart and Too 100 Artists.
He has co-written and co-produced with Charlie XCX, Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato. LAUV recently opened for Ed Sheeran in Asia.
Now on his own solo World Tour, LAUV is a very talented singer, songwriter and producer and has a fantastic voice and stage presence.
If you have the chance to see LAUV live on his tour, I definitely recommend you do. He’s on his way to stardom.
