The “From Montréal to Nashville” benefit concert

A Songwriters Night benefiting those affected by the Nashville tornado

In the aftermath of the tornado that devastated part of the country music capital on March 3rd, LASSO and Agence RANCH are uniting to help the people of Nashville by presenting a concert benefiting the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. On April 8 at L’Astral in Montréal, several new country artists will get together in an intimate setting to present their songs, as well as stories about Music City. In a guitar/voice formula, a dozen emerging or more established artists—including Matt Lang, Travis Cormier, Brittany Kennell, David Laflèche and Phil G. Smith — will share the stage to help a city that is like a second home for several of them.

In the night of March 2nd to 3rd, Tennessee was hit by violent tornadoes that took the lives of more than twenty people, in addition to destroying a large number of buildings, houses, roads, and bridges. To meet the needs of those who were affected, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee created the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, which will receive all proceeds from the benefit concert.

Nashville is considered the capital of country music and one of the major centres of the music industry in the United States and even worldwide. Quebecois artists such as Matt Lang, Guylaine Tanguay and Brigitte Boisjoli recorded albums there, and several others often go there for writing and development sessions, including Yoan, Brittany Kennell, and David Laflèche. The concert will be an occasion for part of the Montréal country music community to do their share and support the cradle of the music that thrills them.
