Feb 28th was the date of the last show The Glorious Sons performed in Columbus, Ohio at The Newport Music Hall in 2020. It seems so long ago in the Before Times or B.C. – Before Covid. We had no idea that soon the entire music industry would shut down, and with it, The Glorious Sons A War On Everything Tour would come to a crashing halt with all of their remaining Canadian dates from March 12th on cancelled.
Fast Forward to 2021 and The Glorious Sons are back on the road on their Unfinished Business Tour where they are hitting cities missed last year. Columbus, Ohio got lucky with shows on both tours and what a show it was! Brett Emmons seemed more relaxed this time around, bounding all over the stage in his bare feet, messing around with band mates. “We love coming to Columbus!” he exclaimed. Later, upon hearing the crowd belting out lyrics, Brett thumped his chest above his heart in appreciation for the vocal crowd participation. Hopefully The Glorious Sons will continue their yearly visit to Columbus. We’ll be there!
Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Americana rock band Brother Elsey gave a spirited performance as an opener.
Popular Columbus, Ohio blues rock trio The Worn Flints opened the show and received a lot of local love from the crowd.
