It’s hard to believe it, but day 3 of Cavendish Beach Music Festival is upon us already! Sunday promised to be another day full of sunshine and country music at the beach, with acts like The Washboard Union and Eric Church taking the stage. Below you can check out our full recap of the main stage performances from day 3 of the festival!
One of the first artists of day 3 was Jade Eagleson. Eagleson is a Canadian artist who found his break when he played on the Emerging Artist Show Case at the Boots and Heart festival in 2017. When he walked towards the front of the stage about to start his first song, I was not prepared for the deep, rich voice. He performed some of his original songs such “Got Your Name on It” as well as some well known cover songs such as “Forever and Ever Amen” and “Any Man of Mine”. He interacted with the fans telling them about his new video that will soon be released. He also shared his appreciation to the fans for their continued support. At 24 years of age, he has humbleness and talent beyond his years. Keep an eye out for this rising country start!
Runaway June took to the stage with their hit “Lipstick”. The fans sang along right from song one. The group consisted of Naomi Cooke, Hannah Mulholland and Jennifer Wayne. The three met in Nashville and they have been together since. They are currently on tour as an opening act for Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty Tour 360”. The perfection of the harmonies was amazing. Their current single “Buy My Own Drink” was a certain hit with the fans.
The Washboard Union hit the Main Stage CBMF with fans ready to sing along and that is exactly what they did. The group tweeted, “Cavenish Beach Music this was a show we will never forget. Thank you for singing along to every song. Wow our hearts are full.” I believe the feeling is mutual. This was a show that the fans will never forget as well.
Sunday afternoon was a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and a refreshing breeze. The only thing to top this beautiful day off was a performance by none other than Cam. She took to the stage singing “Diane”. She put on a high energy performance and utilized the catwalk through her performance to get closer to the fans. She also performed her hit, “Burning House” and the fans were louder than ever, singing along to each and every word. Her set made it obvious that she is a powerhouse country artist.
As the sun was setting on day 3, the grounds quickly filled with Eric Church fans. You could feel the anticipation in the air. As the time drew closer, you could hear fans yelling out his name. They were eager and the atmosphere was electric. The stage was black. You couldn’t see what was going on and then all of a sudden a spot light hits centre stage. The fans went wild. The cheering was deafening. You could never mistake that voice. He was dressed in his traditional black leather jacket, jeans and Aviator sunglasses. He started the set with “Drowning Man”. As the song ended, the stage suddenly came to life with lights and banners. Church played hit after hit. One fan told me this was her 10th or 11th Church concert and she seemed just as excited as someone who was there for the first time. Eric Church is simply “one of a kind”. He captivated the crowd and gave them a performance they will never forget. What a way to end CBMF 2019.
