The Dreams Take Flight charity event took place at Hooley’s Pub on Elgin for a night of Country Music and fun with Bryan Snider opening for country favorites The River Town Saints. This night out helped make dreams come true for some of the region’s most deserving kids by sending them on a once in a lifetime trip to Walt Disney World with Dreams Take Flight.
What is “Dreams Take Flight”:
Dreams Take Flight is a national volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing the trip of a lifetime to medically, mentally, physically, socially or emotionally challenged children. With the aid of Air Canada, other national and local organizations and businesses, money is raised to make the dream a reality in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. Every year one flight departs each of the above locations for a day of magic at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. The team was all in attendance having a great time knowing how important this night is for the kids.
The Night and the Music
Supporters of the organization, River Town Saints put on a fabulous night of live music for all in attendance. It was an acoustic show which only made it feel more intimate and exciting. Openers Byran Snider and First Bass got the crowd warmed up as the everyone ate, danced and enjoyed the entertainment. The night was very interactive and you could see see the entertainers and attendees mingling throughout the night. This is a clear demonstration of the true sincerity everyone brought to the event.
By the end of this year, Dreams Take Flight will have taken over 20,000 children to the happiest place on earth – Disney. There, they experience the wonder of friendship and magic. The goal is to help them forget their troubles for one incredible day and to provide them with a lifetime of memories. A one day event where the kids can simply have fun and enjoy themselves. What this organization does is so important to the kids and families that it has inspired my family to take notice, get inspired and to participate.
