It’s been quite a ride for Cory Marks since he graced our stage at Capital Country fest in Spencerville, almost, 5 years ago. It was also 5 years ago that Marks arrived on the scene with his debut album This Man which introduced us to tracks like “Don’t Count Saturday Night”, “Burnin’ Up The Blacktop” and “21” to name a few.
In mid-2016 he signed a world-wide recording agreement with renowned Advanced Alternative Media producer, Kevin Churko and then last fall Cory signed on with Eleven Seven Music home to such notable acts as Motley Crue, Five Finger Death Punch, and Papa Roach.
Marks a native, and avid promoter, of North Bay, Ontario (the city that I called home for more than a decade before coming to Ottawa and the city in which I discovered my deep-rooted love for live music) is one of the hardest working guys I know in the business. It’s been 5 years since the release of This Man but Marks has spent those 5 years working hard to develop his sound and get everything in place to knock our socks off.
Cory Marks has been on my list of one’s to watch since I was first introduced to him and I’m excited to see and hear what’s coming down the pipe in the next few months. Cory’s first offering since signing to Eleven Seven is a powerhouse country/rock crossover which sees him paired up with Mick Mars of Mötley Crüe, Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch and Travis Tritt. When I first heard that this was happening it reminded me of the “Blue On Black” collaboration, also released by Eleven Seven, with Brantley Gilbert, Brian May, Five Finger Death Punch and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Once you listed to “Outlaws & Outsiders” you’ll understand why it’s topping the charts everywhere and why it’s one of the greatest songs of 2019.
Here is Cory Marks’ “Outlaws & Outsiders“, be sure to request it on your local country, or rock, station today!
