With September fast approaching and although the country is slowly reopening the harsh reality is the pandemic is still here and large gatherings of crowds won’t be possible for the foreseeable future. It’s with that in mind that yesterday’s announcement by the Canadian Country Music Association sent the following announcement to it’s membership.

I founded Sound Check Entertainment 10 years ago this year and have since grown it to a media organization and now artist development / marketing company which specializes in marketing and promoting emerging Canadian country artists. After 10 years of watching from the sidelines I have joined the CCMA membership. I now humbly put my name forward for nominations for Industry Person of the Year.

Another day another standing room only crowd at the Blue Jay Café for CCMA week in Calgary … another day of more people wishing they could have snagged a ticket.

The Oak Tree Tavern has become THE most talked about and the place to be during CCMA Week.  It has been transformed into The Blue Jay Café for the week as Calgary’s version of Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café.
