And just like that 2020 is in the past and a new year is upon us. As every spends the day struggling with the resolutions they made last night let’s take a look back at the year that was. 2020 was a year that the entertainment industry went dark. Theatres, stadiums all sat empty and the super successful artists, who make millions of dollars in royalties in their sleep, were on every TV telling us that we’re in this together while yet to be established artists lost sleep over where they’d find money for rent or food now that they’re primary income source, gigs, had dried up.

I remember about 15 years ago my kids used to watch this annoying TV show called Hannah Montana, you know the one about the teenager who lives a double life as a pop star? Well fast forward to 2020, the world is in a global pandemic and Miley Cyrus just proved to the world that she is bigger, much bigger, than a fictional pop star or even the daughter of Billy Ray…she’s a rock star and she wants, and deserves to be taken seriously as such.
