Arcade Fire hitting the road with Special Guests Wolf Parade, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Phantogram, Angel Olsen, and Broken Social Scene to Perform on Assorted Stops

For many of us the May long weekend signifies the unofficial beginning of summer. Summer – with its warm days and long nights, gathering with family and friends to enjoy good eats, fine weather and the great outdoors.

Kelowna rockers The Wild! have just released their second album Wild At Heart in February, and are heading out on a two month long tour this summer. The tour consist of ten Canadian dates with Pennsylvania band CKY as well as 27 shows across the U.S. with the heavy metal super group Adrenaline Mob.

It was a rainy Thursday in the capital, but The 1975 was lighting up the stage.  First to hit the stage was London, UK band,  COLOURING. Their fresh sound, and stage presence got the crowd on their feet, and singing along. With tunes such as, Symmetry, Heathen, and About You blaring through the arena, not one person were still on their seat.

Growing up in small town Northern Ontario when a concert came to town it usually meant a cover band or a performance by a local band playing someone else’s songs. A rare exception to that rule was this one time when The Northern Pikes rolled into town, I figure I had to have been around 17 or 18 at the time and the show, to this day, was one of my favourite concerts growing up. Fast forward about 25 years to 2017 and the scene would repeat on a damp Saturday night in Renfrew, Ontario.

New producer, new season and 50 + performances this fall by Jann Arden, Diana Krall, Whitehorse and many more make up National Arts Centre 2017 Fall Lineup.

It was a cool, damp, spring evening in Ottawa when Florida Georgia Line returned to the Canadian Tire Centre just over 2 years after their last performance in the city.
