The Bunbury Music Festival was held in Cincinnati, Ohio at Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman’s Cove on the banks of the Ohio River. The crowds were treated to beautiful weather over the weekend with only a brief period of light rain on opening day. Over 50 acts performed on 4 stages with an eclectic mix of music ranging from pop and indie to hip hop and rock. The headliners were Fall Out Boy on Friday, Greta Van Fleet on Saturday and The 1975 on Sunday. It was also a great weekend to check out lesser-known touring bands and regional acts.

Metalcore quartet Blessthefall roared into Columbus, Ohio on their Hard Feelings Spring Tour Saturday night. The sold-out show at Woodlands Tavern was packed tight when I arrived. A lot of attendees were milling about the bar, at the merch tables or outside on the patio to get some air and catch up with friends.

Beasto Blanco Frankenstein’s Ottawa
Currently on tour with Halestorm, Beasto Blanco had Tuesday night off between Toronto and Montreal. So what do you do with a night off? You do what more bands should do and make a pit stop in Ottawa. Brass Monkey was the venue and for a Tuesday night did not disappoint.
Godsmack and Volbeat rock Ottawa
When I was told I was shooting Godsmack I was excited. I saw them live many years ago and became a big fan. The Canadian Tire Center was the spot for the night, and it was going to be amazing. Godsmack brought along Danish rock band Volbeat and American’s Stitched up Heart along for the ride to round out the lineup. One thing I found interesting was the fact that Volbeat was playing a set just as long as a headliner. This made the tour more like a tag team vs and opening act and headliner moment.

Alice in Chains Damns that River
1993,The Lollapalooza tour was in Barrie, Ontario at Molson park. When it came time for Alice in Chains to hit the stage it was dark and still very hot out. I was 16 years old in the middle of a massive mosh pit, the heat was so intense I could barley breath.
