Rock-n-roll supergroups started forming in the late 60’s and early 70’s with bands such as Cream, Blind Faith and Bad Company. Anytime successful musicians join forces to form their own band you’re pretty much guaranteed something special. Fast forward to the present and supergroups are still a big deal. For example, there’s the Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle and Down, to name a few, and of course, the amazing Last In Line!

Frontman Spider One and his crew of “Sci Fi Electro Metal Robot Rockers”  Powerman 5000 assaulted the Alrosa Villa Wednesday in Columbus, OH! Spider One, younger brother of Rob Zombie, is the only original member of the band which got its start in 1991.

Just in time for Halloween, Boston Metalcore band Ice Nine Kills release’s the final cut of their 2018 album The Silver Scream.

Halloween came a week early to Ottawa as Sweden’s Ghost and their Ultimate Tour Named Death stopped in at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Let’s thank Seven Devils Entertainment straight away for scoring the Ukrainian powerhouse Jinjer for a show at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio this past Friday. Their tour this year is selling out all across North America and this show was no exception! The line of metalheads waiting for the doors to open snaked around the building…at 5:30pm. This was definitely the show of the year at the Alrosa and everyone in line knew it!

Hard rock/metal band Nonpoint out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida brought their Red Tape Tour to Columbus, Ohio and did not disappoint! The Show was at The A&R Music Bar and presented by Promowest Productions.

Nonpoint brought a lot of energy and had plenty of engagement with the all-ages crowd. The youngsters in the front row scored drumsticks and guitar picks plus fist bumps, and shout outs. It’s so cool to see shows populated with entire families like this! The fans were totally ramped up and ready to get metal AF with Elias Soriano (lead vocals) and crew as they powered through their set.

Supporting Nonpoint was Rock/Rap act Hyro The Hero. They were absolutely on fire! Hyron Fenton leaped from one edge of the stage to the other, back and forth with boundless energy. He was constantly getting up into the front row to make contact with the rowdy crowd. Amazing set!

Rocker Natalie Ann Cohen is Madame Mayhem and you better believe she owns the stage when she’s on it!

Opening the show was Zero Theorum, a Los Angeles based hard rock/metal band that got the crowd to move closer to the stage en masse as they assaulted everyone’s earholes!

Finnish legends Amorphis hit up Ottawa’s Mavericks recently.  Currently on world tour in support of their new album ‘Queen of Time’, the band has been leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

Metallica announced today that they will be teaming up with Danny Wimmer Presents and headlining all 5 of their U.S. Rock festivals; Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, Louder Than Life and Aftershock.

Saturday, September 14th there was an invasion at the House of Targ. Peterborough’s  Mokomokai and CrossDog rolled into town to lay down some good old fashion heavy metal and punk rock and roll.
