The much anticipated lineup announcement for RBC Bluesfest 2017 is expected overnight tonight. Although it’s always been hard to predict we thought we’d put together a wishlist of who we’d like to see / could see at Lebreton Flats this summer.

Trackside Music Festival announces nine new artists to complete full two-day main stage line-up

Republic Live, organizers of WayHome Music and Arts Festival are pleased to announce the 2017 line-up with headliners Imagine Dragons, Frank Ocean, and Flume. Music fans will once again have the opportunity to see some of the greatest musical acts, across all genres, share a stage at the custom-designed camping and festival grounds, Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, in Oro-Medonte from July 28-30.

When you think of some of the greatest songwriters/storytellers/artist Canada has to offer, we have a pretty long impressive list. Songwriters like Gordon Lightfoot, Gord Downie, Burton Cummings and Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, of Blue Rodeo.

On two other occasions, the audience at the Joshua Bates Centre, in Athens Ontario saw a star in the making. They knew they had made a connection with a lad who was going places and they would be able to say they “knew him when”.  This happened for the third time on Saturday, January 28^th when Tristan Horncastle performed for them. This personable, down to earth Maritimer did an acoustic show accompanied by guitarist Brad Bailey.  We learned about his life through songs from his first CD, “A Little Bit of Alright” and his recent CD, “Turnin Up a Sundown” which are available on his website.

Kingston brothers John and James Abrams aka The Abrams returned to Ottawa on Saturday night for a solo performance at Canada’s National Arts Centre.
