Serena Ryder headines all female Friday at Beaumont Blues & Roots
The 11th annual Beaumont Blues and Roots Festival took place in Beaumont Alberta the weekend of June 15-17. Known as “Canada’s biggest little music festival”, it is the country’s longest running all Canadian content music festival, highlighting the best in all music genres, not just blues and roots, including pop, folk, rockabilly and country music. While the festival has always included a fairly even split between male and female artists, this year is the first time they have scheduled an all female Friday, headlined by Serena Ryder.

Day two shatters records as Brett Kissel rocks Lotbinière
After an amazing first day in St. Agapit, Quebec, which matched attendance from last year’s record-breaking show with Tim Hicks and James Barker Band, you’d think it would be hard to top on Saturday. But then again a lineup of heavy hitters starting with Ottawa’s own Rainwater Whiskey and perfect weather matched with a province of hungry country music fans anything was possible.
Burlington Sound of Music 2018
This year we kicked off summer festival season in southern Ontario once again with none other than Burlington Sound of Music Festival in beautiful Spencer Smith Park on the shores of Lake Ontario. Thankfully we were by the lake because Mother Nature sure brought the heat. If you’ve never been before be sure to check it out next year as the festival celebrates its 40th Anniversary. Throughout the weekend we had the privilege to catch acts such as Tyler Shaw, Scott Helman, Texas King, The Elwins, Royal North, Kongos, See Spot Run, The Pursuit of Happiness and non other than Matthew Good who closed out the festival on Sunday afternoon.
Night of Firsts at Festival Country de Lotbinière
We’re back in St. Agapit, Quebec this weekend for Festival Country de Lotbinière. The weather is perfect, the beer is ice cold, the poutine is amazing and the entertainment is red hot. Friday night kicked off with incredible performances by 2 amazing artists leading up to a high energy, and whiskey fueled performance by reigning Canadian country Queen Meghan Patrick.
